Car rental in Ixia
Ixia runs along the west coast between Ialyssos and Rhodes Town, about 15 minutes from the airport and 10 from the capital. It is one of the most convenient bases on the island for driving.

The logistics are easy here
The airport is close enough that a short rental is practical — pick up on arrival, or later in the week without a long transfer. Rhodes Town is near enough to drive in, park outside the walls and drive back the same evening.
Hotel parking along the Ixia strip is generally available, which is not something you can assume in the Old Town.
Where the drives go
- Rhodes Town — about 10 minutes.
- Filerimos and Ialyssos — about 10 minutes inland and uphill.
- Kallithea Springs — about 25 minutes across to the east coast.
- Embonas wine villages — about an hour south through the mountains.
Wind on the west coast
Ixia's west-facing beaches are windy, which is exactly why windsurfers come. It also means the coast road can carry blown sand — worth knowing before you park nose-on to the sea for a week.
