Both transmissions are offered. Automatics are a smaller part of the island fleet, so they are worth booking early.
The main office is 300 m from Rhodes Airport, just outside the airport area, with pickup arranged around your flight.
A credit card is not asked for anywhere. A deposit applies only to cabrios, SUVs, minivans and buses, can be paid in cash or with a normal debit card, and is cancelled or refunded on return. July and August are the busiest months in Rhodes, and most car rental companies rent out all of their cars — prebook for those weeks. Outside high season, booking 2–3 days before pickup is normally enough to guarantee availability.
You book a category rather than a specific car. The pictures show the type of vehicle in each class; exact make and model may vary.

Pickup and delivery can be arranged at many locations across Rhodes, including hotels, resorts, Rhodes Town, the airport area and other major destinations. Available locations and delivery arrangements are shown during the booking process.
These are pickup and delivery locations rather than a claim that each one is a staffed office. Distances are approximate road distances from Rhodes Airport.
Rhodes is roughly 78 km long, and beaches, villages and archaeological sites are spread right across it. Driving here is straightforward on the main routes and slower than the map suggests everywhere else.
Beaches, mountain villages and archaeological sites are spread across the whole island. A rental car gives you far more flexibility than relying entirely on buses, which mainly serve the northern resorts.
The main north–south routes along the east coast and the west coast road are wide and well surfaced. There are no motorways on Rhodes.
Roads through villages and into the interior can be narrow, steep and winding, with tight bends and limited passing space. A smaller car is easier here.
Average speeds are low. Plan on well over an hour between Rhodes Airport and Lindos, and longer again in the busiest summer weeks.
Speed limits vary by road and location. As a practical guide, visitors commonly encounter 30 km/h and 50 km/h limits in built-up areas and up to 80 km/h on some main roads. Always follow the posted speed limit and road signs.
Watch for animals on rural roads, especially around sunset and after dark. Goats are common in rural and mountain areas, and deer can also appear on roads. Reduce speed on bends, poorly lit roads and quieter countryside routes.
Rhodes Airport (RHO)
